India marks its 74th Independence day today and is likely to have the largest workforce by 2027. With a billion people aged between 15 and 64, today’s children will make India’s future. We are grateful to have inherited a free, progressive nation. However, we need to ensure that our children value this freedom and appreciate it.
An 8-year-old NimbleQer created an “Independence Day Awareness App” to mark this important day in the Nation’s history. This app offers information about India and quizzes users on their knowledge of the country. She has used technology to bring together interesting facts that instill a sense of pride in being Indian.

She began her process by researching about India, after which she made a storyboard to plan her app’s design. Then she applied all that she’d learnt from the NimbleQ classes and designed 14 interconnected screens and wrote 86 lines of code to develop the app.
We live in a world where knowledge of technology is a basic need. Technology plays a vital role in all stages of our lives. Technology is relevant today and knowledge of technology will always be relevant. However, it is important to realize that simply possessing knowledge of technology does not guarantee success. It comes when one knows technology and understands the world that they live in, their market and their target audience as this helps them plan and execute efficiently.
The New Education Policy 2020 lays the foundations for creating a more capable India. It throws light on the importance of knowing technology along with developing an interdisciplinary understanding of the world that we live in.
Here’s to an even brighter India!
